Distance: 200 km (124 mi)
Total climb: Not much, about 2000 ft, most likely no more than 3000 ft.
Short description: A fairly flat 200k out and back. After reaching Forest Grove along TV Hwy, the route heads South along Spring Hill Road and other low traffic roads to Lafayette and Dayton, and then to Amity and Dallas.

Map of the Hillsboro to Dallas route

Elevation profile
Long description: A ride mainly through farm and wetlands area from Forest Grove to Dallas. The ride starts at my house on the East side of Hillsboro (or a convenience store nearby), and follows Baseline and TV Hwy to Forest Grove. A longer alternate route that avoids TV Hwy is available, but you will not get credit for the extra distance. I ride these roads to the start of some of our Oregon Randonneurs brevets, and I find that there is a comfortably wide shoulder most of the way to Forest Grove. After an open control at the Grand Lodge or another store in the area, we head towards Lafayette along Spring Hill Road. Lafayette has a couple of good choices for Mexican food.
From Lafayette we head to Dayton, which is another control location. The convenience store in Dayton is on the route, and there is a bank with an ATM machine a few blocks away.
From Dayton we follow the Amity-Dayton Hwy to Amity, then 99W, Bethel and Perrydale towards Dallas. After crossing OR-22 safely, the last stretch to Dallas has a few steeper rollers. In Dallas we continue through town to the beginning of the Kings Valley Hwy, to the 24hr convenience store that is the turnaround control location. There are several other options for food and beverages in Dallas.
Then we turn around and head back the way we came, to Dayton, Forest Grove and Hillsboro.
